In 1977, a small group of men in their late 20s and early 30s decided to collect the losers of the American car brands - Packard - Kaiser - Studebaker - DeSoto - Henry J - Willys - Hudson - Nash. A few American car brands that went bankrupt in the wake of the giants GM and Ford. They only collected the post-war models of these brands. These cars were mostly only produced in small and insignificant numbers, compared to the two major manufacturers. GM and Ford eventually managed to crush this competition.

They had a vision and they collected these boring cars, but these losers became supreme winners. The EAC Car Historical Center has become an exhibition like no other in the world. This is Norwegian and American car history, but it is also the story of a small group of slightly crazy people with a vision. A small group of young men with a dream and a vision, and who have been faithful and uncompromising towards this vision. Together they have created something impossible. It has literally cost blood, sweat and tears. Several of those who were involved from the beginning have passed away, and never got to experience the centre. It cannot have been without problems, there must have been many conflicts. It may have been painfully necessary to arrive at today's impressive result. But the vision to put in place a center that displays these outdated cars has been constant, like an animal drive and willpower that can move mountains.

On the poster inside the center it says "a piece of Norwegian cultural history". This is modest because here it oozes cultural history. Here there are many cars with a lot of interesting cultural history from all walks of life. From inmates to royalty. Cars that have belonged to heads of state, musicians and featured in famous films. Cars that have driven kings, prime ministers, politicians and world-renowned musicians. But, the biggest and most important story of them all is the story of these guys who amassed this collection over the course of their lives. Magnificent, inspiring and impressive! Many heartfelt thanks for the effort and that we can get to experience this driving force and cultural history on the body. Here there is soul!
